Pittsburgh Penguins top goaltending prospect Sergei Murashov continues to do nothing but make saves at every level of professional hockey. And he just tied a franchise record for Pittsburgh's AHL affiliate, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (WBS).

With a win against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Sunday, Murashov registered his ninth consecutive AHL win, which ties Matt Murray's WBS rookie record.

The 20-year-old rookie goaltender made 23 saves on 26 shots to lead WBS to the win Sunday. He is now 9-0 with a .921 save percentage and one shutout for WBS so far this season.

Since 2019-20 season with Loko Yaraslavl in Russia's junior league - when he was 16 years old - Murashov has not posted a save percentage below .920 at any level of hockey. This includes stints at the MHL (Russia's junior league), KHL, ECHL, and AHL levels.

Murashov - in addition to his nine wins in nine AHL starts this season - has spent a significant portion of the 2024-25 season in the ECHL, where he is 17-7-1 with a .922 save percentage and one shutout across 26 appearances.

As it stands now, Murashov is one of three goaltenders on the active roster for the WBS, which also includes Filip Larsson and Joel Blomqvist - both of whom are having stellar seasons as well.

Larsson is 10-7-3 with a .923 save percentage and five shutouts this season, while Blomqvist - who has spent two brief stints at the NHL level this season - is 7-5-3 with a .910 save percentage and one shutout.
