Three Pittsburgh Penguins have found the scoresheet consistently on this current run.

Three Pittsburgh Penguins have found the scoresheet consistently on this current run.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have been one of the hottest teams during November, winning five straight games and catapulting themselves back up the standings.

After a slow start to the season, the Penguins find themselves back in a playoff spot following their 5-3 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday night. A big reason for the Penguins' recent success has been the dominance of three star players dating back to the end of October.

Sidney Crosby leads the Penguins with points in 11 straight games. He has started to demonstrate why, despite being 36 years old, he is still one of the most talented players in the NHL.

Crosby's latest masterpiece was a four-point night against division-rival Columbus Blue Jackets. He collected his 13th career hat trick and had a hand in four of the Penguins' five goals.

The fifth goal came courtesy of Erik Karlsson, who extended his point streak to six games. Karlsson is beginning to find a groove with the Penguins and is starting to score habitually. Something he was able to do en route to 101 points last season with the San Jose Sharks.

Karlsson has recorded multi-point games in five of his last six outings and has put himself on pace for a career-high in goals (29). The 33-year-old talent was always evident, but with chemistry beginning to shine through with other Penguins stars, the dam may have yet to break on what he's capable of on this team.

Jake Guentzel has quietly put together a stellar start to the 2023-24 season. He has scored 18 points (6G-12A) in 14 games and is currently riding a five-game point streak.

Guentzel has shown more of the playmaking side of his game early this season, electing to set up his linemates in favor of finishing plays himself. Those decisions have him leading the team in assists (12) while having yet to use some of his best offensive tools.

In the final year of his contract, Guentzel has more to give in the goals department, with a 12.8% shooting percentage on the season. That is the lowest Guentzel has had in his career and is nearly three percent lower than his career average (15.6%).

If Guentzel can start to score at his typical pace, the Penguins may be able to find another level offensively.

These three Penguins are clicking on all cylinders at the perfect time, with four heavyweights coming up on the schedule before American Thanksgiving. If the Penguins can continue their hot streak through this stretch, the league will officially be on notice.
