NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said that themed warmup jerseys of any kind will not be allowed.

On Thursday, the NHL announced that themed warmup jerseys would not return next season.
This announcement comes behind a lot of controversies regarding LGBTQ+/pride night jerseys.
San Jose Sharks netminder James Reimer was involved in this when he refused to wear the themed pride jersey on Saturday, March 18.
There were other moments of players choosing not to wear the rainbow pride colors during warmups. Players like Eric and Marc Staal of the Florida Panthers and Ivan Provorov of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Some teams also decided not to wear the jerseys: the New York Rangers, Minnesota Wild, and Chicago Blackhawks.
While the Rangers and Wild did not provide a reason for choosing not to wear the jersey last second, the Blackhawks stated it was to protect their Russian players.
"An unfortunate situation," said Blackhawks coach Luke Richardson when asked about it.
All of the issues so far have been with wearing the pride jersey, but instead of just scrapping that night, the NHL has decided that there will not be a themed warmup jersey of any kind next season.
"In the final analysis, all of the efforts and emphasis on the importance of these various causes have been undermined by the distraction in terms of which teams, which players [will wear the jerseys]," Bettman said. "This way, we're keeping the focus on the game, and on the specialty nights, we're going to be focused on the cause."
