Tomas Hertl will remain out of the lineup when the San Jose Sharks take on the Boston Bruins tonight.
Hertl did not participate in the team's morning skate and will miss his second straight game.
Mackenzie Blackwood was the first goalie off the ice and will start tonight. The Sharks play the New Jersey Devils tomorrow, Blackwood's former team.
When asked if Blackwood could play back-to-back nights, Sharks head coach David Quinn said it is possible.
"I'm not someone who's opposed to it," Quinn said. "[Goalies] used to do it all the time, and the guys are in better shape now [more] than ever. We'll see how he feels and see what type of workload he has tonight."
San Jose will play with the same lineup they did on Monday night against the Washington Capitals.
Justin Bailey will retain his spot on the third line with Nico Sturm and Jacob MacDonald.
"There's a lot of speed on our line. [We are] making sure when we put pucks in, the quicker we can get on their D, the quicker we can turn pucks over," Bailey said. "It's three pretty big bodies in front of the net, and be tough to move. We're looking to get in on the forecheck, get pucks low to high, and get to the net."
This will also mark the first time the Sharks have Calen Addison and Mikael Granlund in the lineup against the Bruins this season.
"Obviously, having a guy like that who can move pucks and be a little bit of a puck mover certainly helps our decor," Quinn said about Addison.
Sharks projected lines:
Zetterlund-Granlund-Duclair
Eklund-Kunin-Hoffman
MacDonald-Sturm-Bailey
Smith-Carpenter-Labanc
Ferraro-Emberson
Addison-Benning
Okhotiuk-Burroughs
Blackwood
Kahkonen
Puck drop is at 7 p.m. EST and can be seen on NBC Sports California or the Sharks Audio Network.
