Patrick Kane is set to make his Detroit Red Wings debut against the San Jose Sharks tonight.

Kane decided to sign with the Red Wings and reunite with his good friend Alex DeBrincat. Kane and DeBrincat were teammates while playing for the Chicago Blackhawks.
San Jose is coming in after a thrilling win over the New York Islanders. Tomas Hertl scored a hat trick, and William Eklund had his first career three-point game.
"I was just exhausted, to be honest. I was just trying to try and get some speed and Granlund made an unbelievable play to get it to me. I just tried to rip it, and it went in," Eklund said after the game.
Matt Benning did not play against the Islanders, but there is no word on whether the reason was injury- or performance-related.
Sharks coach David Quinn has alternated starts for Mackenzie Blackwood and Kaapo Kahkonen. If that trend continues tonight, then Blackwood will get the nod tonight. We will see confirmation either by Sheng Peng of San Jose Hockey Now or via warmups.
Filip Zadina returned from an upper-body injury against the Islanders. He will play against the team that drafted him for the first time in his career. He has had an up-and-down season for San Jose.
