The San Jose Sharks continued their day-one free agent signings with forward Givani Smith.
The team announced that Smith's deal is two years worth $1.6 million ($800,000 average annual value).
"Givani is a big, physical winger with high energy, and we are excited to add him to our group for next season," Sharks GM Mike Grier said.
Smith has 18 career points (eight goals, ten assists) and 210 penalty minutes in 119 NHL games between the Detroit Red Wings and the Florida Panthers.
The six-foot-two, 214-pound native of Toronto, Ontario, was originally selected by Detroit in the 2016 NHL Draft (second round, 46th overall).
