The San Jose Sharks are well represented at this year's IIHF World Championship that is taking place in Finland and Latvia.
Team USA has five of the Sharks staff behind the bench, including head coach David Quinn. Quinn is behind the bench for Team USA for the second straight world championship.
Along with him are assistant coaches Scott Gordon and Ryan Warsofsky. Goaltending coach Thomas Speer and video coach Nick Gialdini.
The Americans are 6-0 and currently lead group A with 18 points. USA owns the best goal differential with 30 goals for and only five against.
In the tournament, they rank third in scoring efficiency and second in save percentage with 95.97%.
David Quinn and his staff have had the best tournament of any team, as they have looked the most dominant across the first six games of the tourney.

San Jose Sharks defenseman Henry Thrun joined his coach with Team USA and is playing in his first World Championships.
Thrun has played in all six games, and although he has yet to register a point, he sits at a comfortable +7.
For Thrun, this is a good audition for him to impress the San Jose Sharks coaching staff and get a chance to continue his development from the end of last season.

Nico Sturm has been excellent for Team Germany. In his six games, Sturm has six points (5 goals, one assist).
Against Hungary on May 21, Sturm had two goals for the second straight game. Germany would go on to have a 7-2 win and move to 3-3 overall.
During his exit interview, Sturm told the media that he had not played for his home country since he played in the World Juniors back in 2015.
"I haven’t played for Germany ever since World Juniors. Feels like many moons ago. It’s certainly something that I look forward to, something that’s a milestone in my career and I haven’t experienced yet. Especially after a tough season like this one, I think it’s good to have some joy in that again," Sturm said.

The San Jose Sharks acquired Zetterlund as a part of the Timo Meier trade back in February.
Zetterlund did not join Team Sweden immediately but has played in three games.
Since joining, Zetterlund has had two goals and one assist. He has shown off the speed and skill that got him to the NHL, including a beautiful goal against France on May 20.
Team Sweden takes on Team USA today with first place in Group A on the line.
Each team has one pool play game remaining before the knockout rounds begin. The top four seeds in each group will play in a quarter-final game tournament style, with each group crossing over.
The crossover tournament style works with these seeds playing each other, 1A-4B, 2A-3B, 1B-4A, 2B-3A.
The San Jose Sharks that are at the 2023 IIHF World Championship have been successful, and many of the players and coaches have put themselves in a strong position to contend for a medal.
