Via San Jose Sharks - Sharks Unveil New Cali Fin Third Jersey; Pay Tribute To Hispanic Heritage Of San Jose & Dedicated Fans

The San Jose Sharks have unveiled a new, reimagined third jersey called the Cali Fin Jersey!

This new all-black third jersey comes out just one year after San Jose released new primary home and away uniforms. This jersey has many small details that pay tribute to the Hispanic Heritage of the San Jose Area.

Here's what the team says about what parts pay tribute:

"The Hispanic heritage of the region dates back centuries and still has a significant impact on our culture. One symbol of that influence is yarn-dyed textiles. The unique technique and striping patterns used to produce serapes and other items has a long history and still has a place in California apparel and surf culture. The teal yarn-dye-esque pattern on the sleeves and bottom of the jersey is a stick tap our region's culture – past and present."

The team brought back former winger Raffi Torres to help release the jersey.

The Sharks are introducing a new jersey crest, the Evolve Fin logo. This logo has been put on the primary jersey as a shoulder patch and the new center ice feature.

This jersey is the first time in Sharks history that the Shark Head won't be the main jersey crest.

"Seeing a different crest on the front that isn't the primary logo is sweet and adds a fresh look for the franchise," lifelong Sharks fan Joe Rose said. "The new black gear to go with the sweaters will also be popular at the end-of-year equipment sale."

As Rose states, the goal of the new Evolve Fin logo is to give the team a more modern feel while still remembering who they are.

They have also reimagined the Northern California shoulder patch last seen on the 2015 Stadium Series uniform. This logo and the striping that pays tribute to the Hispanic Heritage of San Jose highlights why the jersey is called the "Cali Fin."

"The return of the stadium series NorCal logo with a new color scheme is a pleasant surprise," Rose said. "I will be buying plenty of merchandise with that logo on it."

One of the finest details is the inner collar. The Shark teeth recognize the Chomp that fans do whenever the Sharks get a powerplay. The Chomp is arguably the most iconic thing to do at the Shark Tank.

This is arguably one of the best uniforms that the San Jose Sharks have created. Their iconic teal and logo have been a staple in the NHL.

As seen in practice, Kaapo Kahkonen has a brand new setup for this new uniform.

The team will wear the new Cali Fin uniforms for every home game in February and March, which is 11 games. San Jose's first home game is on February 17th.

Cali Fin merchandise collection that includes other items using the new Third Jersey mark and style will also be available at sharksproshop.com and starting January 26th at the Sharks Pro Shop at SAP Center.
