According to SJHN, the San Jose Sharks have some good news regarding Timothy Liljegren's and Nikolai Kovalenko's injuries.

Liljegren left the Sharks first game back from the 4 Nations Face-Off break against the Calgary Flames with an upper-body injury.

Kovalenko also had an upper-body injury and has not played since Jan. 30 against the Seattle Kraken.

Liljegren participated in practice in Montreal today, and although he didn't take regular line rushes, he was part of a power play group, which is a good indicator of the lineup. Head coach Ryan Warsofsky deemed the d-man a game-time decision for Thursday's game against the Montreal Canadians.

Kovalenko had not been with the team in Calgary or Winnipeg but has joined Team Teal in Montreal. The winger wore a non-contact jersey, so don't expect to see him in the lineup on Thursday.

The former Colorado Avalanche forward is also on injured reserve, meaning someone must be sent down or waived to activate Kovalenko.

Kovalenko's return to the lineup has no timeline, but this is a step in the right direction.
