The Kraken have done a great job of acquiring current and former WHLers over the past few years. In 2023, they drafted Prince Albert Raiders defenceman Lukas Dragicevic, Lethbridge Hurricanes defenceman Caden Price, and Everett Silvertips defenceman Kaden Hammell, while in 2024, they added Spokane Chiefs forward Berkly Catton, Red Deer Rebels forward Ollie Josephson and Silvertips forward Julius Miettinen. As for this year, they drafted Edmonton Oil Kings defenceman Blake Fiddler, while in 2022, Seattle selected Portland Winterhawks defender Tyson Jugnauth, who was named Defenceman of the Year in the WHL for the 2024-25 season.
