Nashville, TN - Newly acquired Michael Eyssimont spoke with Piper Shaw and Kraken media after his first morning skate with Seattle following his trade from Tampa Bay on Wednesday. Eyssimont was part of a three-team deal between the Lightning, Detroit Red Wings, and Seattle. The Kraken received two first-round draft picks and Eyssimont in exchange for forwards Oliver Bjorkstrand, Yanni Gourde, and a 2026 fifth-round pick.
Eyssimont only had about six hours to prepare for the team's trip to Nashville and will make his debut in Thursday night's contest with the Predators. Before joining Seattle, he was ranked fifth among Tampa forwards for hits (82), 6th for penalties drawn (14) and shots on goal. He held a career-best three-game point streak from Feb. 9 to Feb. 25 adding a goal and two assists in that span. In his history facing the Predators he has an assist in six career games.
When asked what he would bring to the Kraken, the 28 year old Eyssimont said "I'm trying to bring some speed to the game." “I’ve played some one thousand hockey games in my life. So just trying to go in there and treat it like playing hockey because that's what it is.”
Eyssimont is expected to be dressed for warmups. Puck drop in Nashville is 5PM PST
