The Seattle Kraken will host the Washington Capitals tonight, looking to win their second consecutive game and avenge an earlier season loss.

The Seattle Kraken are back in action tonight, hosting the fourth game of their current five-game home stand against the Washington Capitals

The Kraken and the Capitals met earlier this season, with the Capitals defeating the Kraken 4-1. The Kraken were thoroughly outplayed in their first encounter. They were outshot 34-19 and fell behind 3-0 going into the third period. Jaden Schwartz scored early in the third to give them hope, but a Tom Wilson empty-net goal secured the win for the Capitals.

The Kraken enter tonight’s game after beating the New Jersey Devils, 4-2. The Kraken found themselves trailing after the first period, but three unanswered goals by Ryker Evans, Matty Beniers, and Berkly Catton helped vault them to the two vital points.

The Capitals enter tonight’s contest after losing an emotional overtime game to the Edmonton Oilers, 6-5. The Capitals had multiple leads on several occasions, but they allowed a late goal to Zach Hyman, and Connor McDavid ended the game on a breakaway in overtime.

The Capitals have underperformed compared to last season. Still, they remain in the hunt for a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and have received strong seasons from Logan Thompson, Wilson, and John Carlson, among others. They rank 14th in goals scored per game (3.21) and 10th in goals allowed per game (2.91).
