Coach Dan Bylsma kept his message to the rookies ahead of Sunday’s game simple: “Just go out there and play your game.” Speaking to the media after Saturday’s training camp, the Kraken’s new head coach reminded the prospects that while this may be an exhibition game, it’s still hockey. Everyone will need to focus on the skills they learned in training camp and put their best skates forward.

“The exhibition games are an opportunity for them to show as an individual what they can do.” Bylsma has 20 days to help the younger skaters develop good habits in time for the regular season. The coach hopes to combine the team’s strengths from last season and use that as a catalyst to improve the weaknesses that prevented the Kraken from playing in the postseason.
