Coachella Valley Opens Calder Cup Playoffs Friday vs. Calgary

One prediction about the Seattle Kraken's AHL farm team in Coachella Valley is a lead-pipe, 10-star, titanium-lock guarantee.

During their 2024 Calder Cup playoff run, the Firebirds won't run low on players.

By virtue of winning the Western Division, Coachella Valley earned a 1st round bye. Their postseason begins with a 2nd round best-of-five against the Calgary Wranglers, with Game 1 Friday in Calgary.

Through the addition of Kraken prospects after their major junior or college seasons ended, the Firebirds roster has swelled to 35 players. That includes 18 forwards, 14 defensemen, and three goalies.

During the AHL playoffs, we'll be especially tracking players under contract to Seattle likely to attend Kraken development and/or training camps in coming months. Here's a primer on who they are, either with season stats, or what those on amateur tryout contracts have done in their brief time in Palm Desert, CA.

Not pictured: Kraken defenseman Ryker Evans, who spent most of the season in Seattle and played in 36 Kraken games, has been sent back to Coachella Valley for their playoff run. He'll be back in the Seattle lineup on opening night in October.
