Last Second Goal From Montour Secures Kraken Win Over Toronto

After squandering a three-goal lead, Seattle reclaimed momentum when Brandon Montour’s late-game rocket stunned Toronto, clinching a thrilling victory to cap off the Kraken's four-game home stand.

Wednesday night the Kraken met the Maple Leafs for the final game of their 4-game home stand.  With wins against Detroit and Utah under their belts, and a recent loss to the Minnesota Wild, Seattle was looking to end the stretch on a good note before heading to Calgary on Friday.

In what is developing into a pattern, the Kraken took an early lead through the first two periods.  Goals from Berkly Catton, Josh Mahura, Chandler Stephenson, and Ryker Evans took the score to 4-2 at the end of the first 40.

Toronto brought the score even in the 3rd.  Seattle did make them work for it, and the tying goal did not come until 18:30 in the period from Auston Matthews with assists from Darren Raddysh and Gavin McKenna.  It was looking like the game would head into overtime when Monty did what Monty does.

Matty Beniers won the face off, dropping the puck back to Jordan Eberle who threw a quick pass to Montour.  Without hesitation, Monty threw his bullet of one-timer at the net.  For a moment, it looked like Bobrovsky had it, but the puck rocketed past him and into the back of the net.
