Today's Featured Photo: Matty's Superman Leap

Editor's Note: The Seattle Kraken don't play again until Feb. 10 in Philadelphia. (Hey! That's tomorrow!) To help Kraken fans through this difficult period of withdrawal, we've been presenting daily photos, quotes, and insights into Seattle's own #10, 2023 Calder Trophy winner Matty Beniers.

Matty Beniers Photo Of The Day

You can't fully tell from the photo, but Beniers' entire body is off the ice. To score this spectacular goal in Buffalo against the Sabres, the Kraken center took a lunging leap at the puck. Although there's three Buffalo sticks in the picture, only Beniers' makes contact. By the time Matty landed, he'd scored.

Two Can Live As Cheaply As One

Way back on Day 2 of "10 Days of #10", Matty Beniers shared some of what he and roommate Will Borgen do between games.

What didn't get revealed is how he and the Kraken defenseman become roomies in the first place. Until now.

"How we became roommates was kind of like I went out and was looking at apartments and they were pretty expensive," Beniers said on the 32 Thoughts podcast.

"There were these houses that were basically the same price for way more space. And I was like, "Hey, you want to live together?' He was like, 'Sure, why not?' So we lived together and had a great time last year and decided to do it again this year.

"I would say Will's probably more of the grown up. Rightfully so, he is older, so he should be (Matty grins).

"He's a great guy. Farm boy, Minnesota, simple guy, likes hanging out with everyone. Very down to earth. Likes his football, likes his sports, sits on the couch and we'll watch games."

And play them, too, resuming Saturday against the Flyers.
