The Seattle Kraken have selected Jaden Schwartz as the team's 2024-25 King Clancy Memorial Trophy nominee, annually awarded to the player who has made a significant humanitarian contribution to the community.
Schwartz was nominated for the 2024-25 Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, which was voted on by the Professional Hockey Writers’ Association in Seattle. The award is given to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey.
Schwartz has made a lasting impact on the Kraken organization and Seattle for his work both on and off the ice. On the ice, the 32-year-old has scored 25 goals and 48 points in 80 games, leading the team in goals.
The recipient of the King Clancy Memorial Trophy will be awarded $25,000 to the charity of their choice. The winner will be selected by a committee led by NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.
The King Clancy Memorial Trophy was established in 1988 in honor of Frank “King” Clancy — a beloved figure in the hockey world who left a mark as a player, referee, coach, manager, and goodwill ambassador.
