Jagger Firkus Recalled From Coachella Valley

Riding a hot point-per-game streak in the AHL, the electric playmaker joins Seattle’s depleted forward group as the Kraken prepare for their high-stakes international trip to Finland.

With both Jared McCann and Curtis Douglas on IR, the Kraken found themselves down to twelve forwards.  The upcoming trip to Finland for the Global Series made it, perhaps, even more imperative to get an extra on the roster.  Enter Jagger Firkus.

The "Firkus Circus" as fans affectionately refer to him, was drafted in round 2 of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft (35th overall).  He spent the next two seasons in the WHL with the Moose Jaw Warriors where, in 2023-24, he racked up 126 points (61 goals, 65 assists) in 63 games played.

The next season, Firkus joined the Coachella Valley Firebirds.  His production dropped—to be expected when making the jump from major junior to professional hockey—but he ended the season with 36 points in 69 games.  He made strides in the 2026-26 season, jumping to 56 points (21 goals, 35 assists) in 63 games.

So far this season, Firkus has averaged a point-per-game (12: 4 goals, 8 assists).  He is best known for his speed and quick release, and ability to find the angle.  As evidenced by his stats, he sees the game well and is able to set up his linemates for scoring chances as often as taking them himself.

It is unclear if Firkus will make his NHL debut during this call up, but be watching.
