

The arbitration hearing between the Seattle Kraken and Kaapo Kakko has been set for July 25.
There are seven arbitration hearings set between players and NHL franchises, with the Kraken and Kakko going first. The Kraken have been straightforward about their proceedings with Kakko, sharing that they knew finding a compromise would be difficult.
Kakko was acquired by the Kraken during the 2024-25 season, scoring 10 goals and 30 points in 49 games. The 24-year-old enjoyed his best stretch of games with the Kraken and developed chemistry with Matty Beniers.

Gabriel Vilardi, Morgan Barron, Jack McBain, Lukas Dostal, Drew Helleson and Bowen Byram had all filed for arbitration but agreed to contract terms prior to their hearings.
