Insight From Dave Hakstol's End Of Season Media Session

Editor's Note: We're not joining the Kraken-verse's unhealthy obsession with the job status of coach Dave Hakstol. We addressed that here. Unless that status changes, we'll focus on what Hakstol shared at his end-of-season press conference.

When a team doesn't produce the results it expected, at least one of three things must be true.

(1) Players weren't as good as forecast, (2) players and coaches failed to maximize performance, (3) outside influences such as injuries made predicted outcomes unreachable.

Everyone within Kraken Community Iceplex will be tasked this summer with figuring out how these factors contributed to a 48-loss Seattle Kraken season (13 of those in overtime or shootout).

Whether the 2023-24 roster was capable of more than its out-of-the-playoffs results is a question I put to coach Dave Hakstol in this Kraken Reaction.
