Seattle defied a losing trend across the NHL, securing an overtime victory while debuting an anchor-clad sweater that honors Mount Rainier and Washington’s iconic state flower.

Hometown Remix jerseys have been debuting across the National Hockey League.  Fans have noticed a trend: teams wearing the new jerseys are losing.

The first batch of the Jerseys made their appearances Monday, November 2nd.  San Jose, Chicago, and Florida all found themselves walking away losses.  The curse was broken on the 3rd, but fans were still concerned that the pattern would continue.

In the end, the Kraken pulled off a 2-1 overtime win over the Calgary Flames despite the Spector of the Hometown Remix curse looming large.  But what is it about these jerseys?

The Kraken’s version of the special line features the alternate logo, an anchor, front and center.  The traditional Kraken “S” has been placed on the shoulders and features an ice blue eye instead of read.  The colors are primarily navy and cream with the ice blue accents.  A fun detail is the shadow of Mount Rainier sketched into the cream stripes on the sleeves.  On the back inside hem, one can find “Seattle” surrounded by two rhododendrons—the state flower.

The jerseys became available to buy Monday, November 2nd.  As of now, the jerseys are only expected to be available for this season. If you want to get your hands on one, do not wait too long!
