Seattle Kraken defenseman Vince Dunn has regained his day-to-day status with an undisclosed injury.
Dunn was involved in a collision in the third period of Thursday's 6-4 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. The 27-year-old was tied up with Tyson Foerster and awkwardly fell. He went to the locker room immediately but returned to the bench. Upon his return, Dunn stayed on the bench for the final five minutes but didn't hop over the boards for any shifts.
This is the second injury Dunn has faced to start the season. He missed the Kraken's third game of the year against the Dallas Stars with an upper-body injury he suffered against the Minnesota Wild the night before.
As of now, Dunn is listed as day-to-day but HC Dan Bylsma stated that "Still some further evaluation to be done.”
In games where Dunn has been healthy, he's looked every bit of his best self. He scored a goal and three points in four games and has averaged the fourth most time on ice among all Kraken defensemen despite missing parts of two third periods.
The Kraken are starting to hit their stride and have won consecutive games for the first time this season. The coaching staff and players will be hoping that the news about the extent of Dunn's injury isn't severe and that he can join the lineup soon.
