The Seattle Kraken have extended qualifying offers to restricted free agents Ryker Evans, Kaapo Kakko and Tye Kartye.

Evans, a 23-year-old left-handed defenseman, completed his first full season in the NHL, scoring five goals and 25 points in 73 games. He took another major step in his development, averaging 19:29 of ice time, continuing his progression on the defensive side of the puck.

Throughout the 2024-25 campaign, Evans continuously stepped up when the team suffered injuries and developed great chemistry with Brandon Montour. Evans' season earned him a spot on Team Canada's World Championship roster, where he played eight games and recorded two assists.

Kakko was acquired during the 2024-25 season and revitalized his career in Seattle, scoring 10 goals and 30 points in 49 games. The 24-year-old is a two-way winger who the Kraken hope could unlock even more offensive capabilities. Upon his arrival, he formed a great partnership with Matty Beniers, both of whom are players who are strong defensively but believe they have more to offer offensively.

Kartye showed a lot of promise in his rookie season, but his sophomore campaign proved to be difficult. The 24-year-old managed just six goals and 13 points in 63 games. His struggles offensively affected the physical aspect of his game, averaging just 2.78 hits per game compared to his rookie season, where he averaged 3.00 hits per game.

Qualifying offer price tags according to Puckpedia:

    Evans: $874,125 (arbitration eligible)
    Kakko: $2,400,000 (arbitration eligible)
    Kartye: $813,750 (arbitration eligible)
