Kraken Face Blues In Second Game Of Season-Closing Road Trip

    Image

It's a good thing the Seattle Kraken are in St. Louis today for a game against the Blues (10 am Pacific Time on TNT cable).

Their home digs at Climate Pledge Arena received an artistic makeover Saturday from season ticket holders, the annual "Paint The Ice" event.

While I was watching and writing about the Kraken dropping a 3-1 decision to the Stars in Dallas, photogs Laura Beth and Candace Kludt were documenting the work of hockey Rembrandts.

I think Laura and Candace had the more fun assignment, don't you?

Some Kraken fans drew pictures, while other left written messages.Several chose depictions of the Kraken itself. This one has nine tentacles... but who's counting?Am I the only one who finds this disturbing? Mascot Buoy's troll head on a kraken body. For real, this is going to be in my nightmares.Ah, that's better. As a Canadian, Kraken center Yanni Gourde isn't eligible to serve as U.S. president. But I'm sure he appreciates your support. Nice font, by the way - now I'm hungry for matzo ball soup.I didn't know salmon actually made this noise when they get yeeted.Extra points for attention to detail; note the "CCM" branding on Grubauer's goal stick. The Jackson Four are counting on the Kraken to return to playoff form next season.Kraken defenseman Adam Larsson's bowl-haircut visage was immortalized on t-shirts worn by teammates this season. He'd be proud this iconic image got painted on the CPA ice, too.Incidentally, Larsson missed his first Seattle games ever recently, because he and his wife were having their very own Kraken hockey baby. One fan dedicated art to Seattle's AHL farm team in Coachella Valley, CA. The Firebirds, in their second season, won the Western Division title and are poised for another long playoff run.If it was up to us, the ice wouldn't get melted. How cool would it be for the Kraken to skate out onto this ice surface next October?Laura & Candace's shots, and so many pix you enjoy here on THN Kraken, come from the wonderful photography team at Caroline Anne's Come As You Are Hockey.
