Boston Native Wins In First-Ever NHL Appearance In Hometown
The analytics people who calculate such things say the Boston Bruins should have scored four goal against the Seattle Kraken Thursday, maybe five.
Instead, goalie Joey Daccord limited them to one, making 36 saves (and aided by three Bruins shots that rang off goalposts).
Philipp Grubauer could have made 150 saves with both eyes closed on Long Island one game earlier - he almost did in a 2-1 win over the Islanders - and it wouldn't have kept Daccord from facing his childhood team.
Daccord, who grew up 40 minutes north of Boston as a Bruins fan, played and won for the first time at the same TD Garden where he used to sit in the upper bowl.
