Seattle, WA - The Seattle Kraken wasted no time honoring the memory of their founding owner, David Bonderman, lovingly referred to as "Bondo," who passed away Wednesday at the age of 82 in his home, surrounded by family.
A special memorial helmet decal featuring Bonderman’s nickname and the famous red eye of the Kraken has been affixed to every player's helmet. Bonderman, whose vision helped launch the NHL's 32nd franchise and the world's most sustainable arena, also played a key role in creating part of the Kraken's logo.
Condolences and tributes have flooded social media, with words of sympathy and thanks to Bonderman and his family. Fans attending Thursday's home game against the Boston Bruins will get a first glimpse of the new "Bondo" decals in action.
