Seattle loses a defensive anchor and penalty-kill specialist for a grueling five-game road trip as an upper-body injury sidelines the veteran blueliner for up to six weeks.
The Kraken have placed defenseman Ryan Lindgren on injured reserve due to an upper body injury sustained on Tuesday. He is expected to be out 4-6 weeks for recovery.
Lindgren left Tuesday's game against the Vegas Golden Knights after the first period, and did not return. No update on his injury was available immediately post-game, but head coach Lane Lambert spoke on the veteran's impact on the ice including to the penalty kill where Lindgren is a member of the first unit.
The team is on the road for the next week, facing Detroit, Washington, Philadelphia, Tampa Bay, and Florida before returning home on October 20th. It is a tough road trip against some physical teams where Lindgren's hard style of play would have been especially valuable.
There are still seven defensemen on Seattle's active roster, so it is unlikely we will see a call up from Coachella Valley at this time.
