The Seattle Kraken have reassigned Ben Meyers to the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Meyers played in three games during his call-up, failing to register a point while averaging 7:56 of TOI. He was called up following Jordan Eberle's injury and was expected to be the 13th forward due to the acquisition of Daniel Sprong but was inserted into the lineup for Shane Wright while he was healthy scratched.

The 26-year-old will rejoin the Firebirds in the AHL where he's scored two goals and eight points in 11 games. He currently has the sixth most points on the Firebirds' roster despite missing four games.

Meyers is an important piece to the Kraken franchise. When he's with the Firebirds, he is a relied-upon offensive threat on a team that has many young forwards, including Jagger Firkus, Eduard Sale, Jani Nyman and David Goyette. When he's up in the NHL he needs to be an adaptable forward playing with high energy in limited minutes.

With Eberle expected to be out for three months, Meyers will likely be back up the Kraken at some point if they suffer any other injuries.
