The next stop for the Seattle Kraken on their five-game road trip is in Boston, where veteran defenseman Brandon Montour could accompany them.
The Kraken held an optional skate this morning following their 3-2 overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils, and were joined by Montour, who skated in a regular practice jersey for the second consecutive day.
Following the skate, coach Lane Lambert was asked about Montour's status and availability for tonight's game against the Boston Bruins, saying he's a “possibility.” The 31-year-old has missed the Kraken's last 14 games after undergoing surgery on his hand.
Montour has played just 27 games this season, but has notched an impressive six goals and 16 points. Despite all the action he's missed, he ranks seventh in points on the team.
Montour's return would be a significant boost to the Kraken's lineup, both offensively and defensively. He averages the third most ice time on the team at 21:56 and is a potent power play threat.
Montour is a game-time decision tonight, but if he is still unable to play tonight, he could be ready for Saturday night's final game of the road trip against the Utah Mammoth.
