The Seattle Kraken have signed Chandler Stephenson to a seven-year contract worth 6.25M.
Stephenson, like Brandon Montour, is a Stanley Cup champion and is 30 years old. In 75 games he scored 16 goals and 51 points.
The Canadian forward can play on both the wing and as a centre. His speed and playmaking abilities will help the Kraken improve their lacklustre offence. With a career-high of 21 goals and 65 points, Stephenson will provide the Kraken with depth up the middle and be a veteran presence for Matty Beniers and Shane Wright.
The Kraken have now made two free-agent signings in Montour and Stephenson. Stephenson is now the highest-paid forward on the Kraken.
With $10M left in cap space, the Kraken aren't done making moves yet.
