Seattle Kraken prospect Carson Rehkopf has been traded to the Brampton Steelheads for 10 draft picks.

Seattle Kraken prospect Carson Rehkopf has been traded to the Brampton Steelheads for 10 draft picks.

The Kraken's 2023 second-round pick scored 52 goals and 95 points with the Kitchener Rangers last year. He'll join a Steelheads roster that is changing locations from Mississauga to Brampton and is home to another Kraken prospect, Jakub Fibigr. The Steelheads also roster Luke Misa and projected top-five pick in the 2025 NHL draft, Porter Matrone.

The Steelheads are trading a lot of draft capital to acquire Rehkopf. They'll be sending three second-round picks, three third-round picks, three fourth-round picks and one seventh-round pick.

The 19-year-old was impressive in every stage he played in since the Kraken drafted him. He showed his goal-scoring prowess during the OHL regular season, in the playoffs and with Team Canada at the World Juniors. Most recently, he was a standout with Canada at the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase.

With the Steelheads, Rehkopf will try to help them go on a long playoff run and help them qualify for the 2025 Memorial Cup.
