The Seattle Kraken have acquired a 2027 second-round pick from the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Brandon Tanev.

Tanev joined the Kraken in the expansion draft and had thrived since joining. The 33-year-old's career-highs in goals and points came during his tenure with the Kraken.
Tanev will be re-joining the Jets organization, which is where he started his career. He spent the first three seasons of his NHL career in Winnipeg and will joining them again as they lead the Western Conference.
During his time with the Jets, Tanev paired very nicely with Adam Lowry and could re-find his previous chemistry with him. He'll help improve their bottom six and make them a tougher team to play against.
Returning to the Kraken is a 2027 second-round pick. The Kraken now own two first-round and two second-round picks in 2027.
