Seattle Kraken captain Jordan Eberle has made his long-awaited return to practice in a non-contact jersey.

Seattle Kraken captain Jordan Eberle has made his long-awaited return to practice in a non-contact jersey.

The 34-year-old last played on Nov. 14 when he suffered a pelvis injury that required him to undergo surgery. The expected absence that was first reported was three months meaning Eberle is on track to recover in the anticipated time.

Before electing to follow through with the surgery, Eberle talked him multiple doctors about what the best course of action was and ultimately the best thing for him to do at this stage of his career was to perform the surgery.

The Regina, SK native was named captain of the Kraken prior to the first game of the season and got out of the gates hot, scoring six goals and 11 points in 17 games.

The Kraken have missed his veteran presence and leadership in the locker room. When times have been difficult, the Kraken have struggled to get themselves out of it and have suffered in the standings because of it. The Kraken are 10 points out of a playoff spot but have under 30 games to make up that ground.

The exact return date for Eberle has yet to be shared and the Kraken will likely be as patient as possible during the integration process but it's positive news to see Eberle back and skating with the team.
