Seattle Kraken forward Eeli Tolvanen has been omitted from Finland's 4 Nations Face-Off roster. The tournament is set to be played from Feb 12, 2025, to Feb 20, 2025, with Finland, Canada, Sweden and the USA participating.

The 25-year-old has scored seven goals and nine points in 26 games this year but has struggled to replicate the shot volume he displayed in his first two seasons with the Kraken.

Tolvanen has represented Finland at the U-17s, U-18s, World Juniors, World Championship and the Olympics, winning gold at the U-18s and World Juniors and being named to the Olympic All-Star team.

His early success with Finland wasn't enough to get him on the roster but was a one of the major factors that lead to him being selected in the first round of the 2017 NHL draft by the Nashville Predators. His heavy shot and lightning-quick release has been vital to the success of his career to date.

Tolvanen could have brought a sniper's mentality to a team filled with playmakers. His shot threat could have helped Finland compete offensively with the other three teams in the tournament.
