The 23-year-old forward snapped a scoring drought with a clutch third-period goal, forcing overtime and cementing his place in the record books during a gritty road battle.

200 NHL points in just over four full NHL seasons; that is the milestone Kraken forward Matty Beniers reached Thursday night.  Beniers had been stalled at 199 points for the teams’ last few games, but a goal in the 3rd period finally put him in the 200 club.

84 goals and 116 assists in 339 career games gives the 23-year-old a .59 points-per-game average.  His highest scoring season occurred in 2022-23, with 57 points (24 goals, 33 assists) in 80 regular season games played.  So far in 2026, Beniers has posted 2 goals and 2 assists in 8 games.

Not only did he meet the 200 point milestone, Beniers’ goal brought the game to a 3-3 tie and forced overtime.  Unfortunately, the Kraken were unable to secure the victory and walked away with a single point for their effort.

The Kraken have another chance to add two points to their standing on Saturday the 17th, when they face the Panthers in Florida.  The team will return home October 20th for a four game home stand.
