Seattle, WA - The Seattle Kraken announced more changes to their coaching staff on Friday with the departure of assistant coach Dave Lowry and goaltending coach Steve Briere. According to a press statement from Seattle Kraken Executive VP and General Manager Jason Botterill, the decision was made in part by the new head coach, Lane Lambert.
"As Lane Lambert evaluates the coaching staff, we've made the decision to relieve assistant coach Dave Lowry and goaltending coach Steve Briere of their duties. We appreciate all their hard work and dedication to the Kraken and wish them luck on their future endeavors."- -Seattle Kraken Executive VP and General Manager Jason Botterill- June 6, 2025

Lowry joined the Kraken in the summer of 2022 alongside Briere and remained on staff following the dismissal of the team’s inaugural head coach, Dave Hakstol. Before his time in Seattle, Lowry served as interim head coach for the Winnipeg Jets, working alongside his son, Adam Lowry, the team’s captain, after Paul Maurice's departure.
Briere served seven years as the goaltender coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
No word yet on the fate of assistants Bob Woods, or Jessica Campbell as Lambert reshapes his staff for the ’25–’26 season. Both focus on player development and special teams, including the struggling penalty kill. Woods celebrated coaching his 1000th NHL game back in March.
Lambert is scheduled to speak in his first press conference since being hired by the Kraken on Monday, June 9th at the Kraken's practice facility at 11AM PST.
