Seattle Triples Anaheim In SOG 36-12 In First Of Back-To-Back Meetings

    Image

The very best part of the Seattle Kraken's 4-0 shutout of the Anaheim Ducks Tuesday at Climate Pledge Arena didn't come until after the game was over.

If shots of goalie Joey Daccord's celly with Matty Beniers don't leave you with an ear-to-ear grin... you're probably not capable of an ear-to-ear grin.

But don't race through ace photog Caroline Anne's warmup and game action shots. There's plenty of good stuff to set you up for the fun finish. As always, the captions are my fault.

When it's your first NHL game, like for the Kraken's Logan Morrison, tradition dictates that the only things on the ice at the start of warmups are you and a bunch of pucks.

By the way, look at the above photo again and you'll see the Kraken crack media staff documenting the moment. Here's what it looked like from their point of view.

Like we said, Logan and a bunch of pucks.Kraken goalie Joey Daccord, in no apparent hurry to join Morrison in pregame activites.Fellow Coachella Valley callup Ryan Winterton, his second stint with the Kraken this season. The rookies are roommates at Coachella Valley. Here Morrison (59) reminds Winterton (26) that it was his turn to put out the trash before they hopped a plane to Seattle.Since Vince Dunn and Ryker Evans are out with injuries, a third Firebird, Gustav Olafsson (23), filled in capably on defense for the Kraken."Guys, you didn't tell me you smeared superglue on the glass. Guys? GUYS?"The Kraken's Oliver Bjorkstrand (22 at far right) calls "8-ball in the corner pocket."Spoiler Alert: This puck didn't go in, because nothing went in against Kraken goalie Daccord, who earned his 3rd shutout of the season. One of two possible things Daccord (far left) is thinking here. (1) I hope one of you knows where the puck is, because I don't. (2) Did we get the first down?I love this photo! Bjorkstrand (22) and Matty Beniers (10), both cocked and ready to fire, awaiting the pass from Eeli Tolvanen (in #20 helmet at bottom left).

Curious what happened in the snap above? Wonder no more.

The return of the fan appreciation celly at center ice, as the Kraken dispose of the Ducks... and an 8-game winless streak. In recognition of his shutout, Daccord gets to yeet as the game's third star... but keep scrolling, because Joey isn't done celebrating. As Matty Beniers prepares to take his skate as first star (one goal, two assists), he's the recipient of a very localized downpour.Beniers knows to keep his helmet on when Daccord's wielding water bottles.Goalie Joey, obviously concerned Matty won't have time for a postgame shower, makes sure to empty both bottles on the Kraken center.
