For non-playoff teams like the Seattle Kraken, the joy in the final games of a season is getting peeks into the future.

Tuesday in a 5-0 shutout of the Arizona Coyotes, fans at Climate Pledge Arena were given several reasons to look forward to the 2024-25 campaign.

Chief among them, 2022 1st round draft choice Shane Wright (above photo), who scored for the fourth time in four games since being called up from Seattle's AHL farm team in Coachella Valley.

As ace photog Caroline Anne shows us, Shane had plenty of company.

The future of Kraken hockey, left to right: Joey Daccord (ok, he's 27, but this is his first full NHL season), Logan Morrison (59), Tye Kartye (52), Ryan Winterton (26), Shane Wright (51).Logan Morrison made two key blocks to preserve the Kraken shutout.Centers of attention: Ryan Winterton (26, drafted 2021), Shane Wright (51, drafted 2022).Defenseman Ryker Evans (39, drafted 2021) started the season in the AHL, but quickly earned a permanent home in the NHL.We haven't forgotten 2023 Calder Trophy winner Matty Beniers (10, 2021 draft).Wright (51), a 4th overall selection, vs. Logan Cooley (92), 3rd overall by Arizona in 2023.Wright got Seattle off and running with the opening goal at 1:08 of the 1st period.Yes, the Kraken will be relying more on youth next season, but this might be pushing it.Score a goal, win the game, yeet a fish. Expect more of Wright doing this in '24-'25 at CPA.
