September will be here before you know it. (Sorry, schoolkids on summer vacation.) When the ninth month arrives, so will the annual Western Hockey League pre-season tournament hosted by the Everett Silvertips.
As in past years, the Silvertips, Seattle Thunderbirds, and every other team in WHL U.S. Division will participate. Two games per day will be played at Angel of the Winds Arena starting Friday, Sept. 6.
Friday, Sept. 6
Saturday, Sept. 7
Sunday, Sept. 8
The Silvertips and Thunderbirds will play a second pre-season game in Everett on Sept. 12. One night earlier, on Sept. 11, the T-Birds get a home game at Accesso ShoWare Center in Kent against the Victoria Royals.
Everett won't be the only place in Washington State to host a WHL pre-season tourney. The Tri-City Americans welcome the Winterhawks, Wild, and Chiefs for five total games at Toyota Arena, Sept. 13-15. More details here.
The Americans play in Kennewick, Washington, a southeast Washington city an easy 225-mile drive from Seattle. I-90 and I-82 take you right into town.
The full WHL pre-season slate can be found here. The league plans to release its regular season schedule on Tuesday.
