Portland, OR - The Seattle Kraken have signed Portland Winterhawks' Tyson Jugnauth, 21, to a three-year, entry-level $950K, two-way AAV contract on Tuesday, May 27th.

The Kraken's 2022 fourth round pick led all WHL defensemen with 89 points in the 2024-25 season with 13 goals, 76 assists and posted a league-best 33 playoff points.

The Kelowna, B.C native's success in his two seasons with the Winterhawks helped advance the team to back to back Western Conference Championship series. Jugnauth also received the Bill Hunter Memorial Trophy for the WHL Defenseman of the Year.

The 2025 NHL Entry Draft is set to take place June 27th and 28th in Los Angeles, CA.  There, a new crop of NHL prospects will be selected over seven rounds (224 players overall).   While some draft picks may sign their entry-level contracts immediately, others may remain unsigned as the team watches their development. Since the end of the 2024-25 season, the Kraken have offered contracts to three prospects: Andrei Loshko, Nathan Villenueve, and (reportedly) Tyson Jugnauth.
