Rangers end the Kraken's four game winning streak at home 2-0.

Seattle, WA – The Seattle Kraken’s four-game winning streak came to an abrupt end Sunday night as the New York Rangers shut them out 2-0. The loss marked the fifth game of a six-game homestand and the first of two matchups this season between the teams, with Sunday’s game being the only one played in Seattle. Philipp Grubauer returned to the crease for the Kraken, while Jonathan Quick started in net for the Rangers.

The teams were evenly matched in terms of shots on goal, with Seattle edging out New York 24-23. Grubauer stopped 21 of 23 shots, while defenseman Jamie Oleksiak was a force on the blue line, blocking an impressive six shots.

The game saw only one penalty, a holding call on the Rangers’ Ryan Lindgren for an infraction against Yanni Gourde.

Chandler Stephenson had a strong night at the face-off circle, winning 10 of 16 draws, while also disrupting several Ranger scoring attempts.

Despite several standout saves from Grubauer, the night belonged to New York—especially Quick, who earned first-star honors after stopping all 24 Kraken shots for the shutout. The Rangers struck twice, with Alexis Lafrenière breaking the deadlock at 17:30 in the second period, and Zac Jones adding an insurance goal at 2:58 in the third.
