Seattle Musicians Show Their Kraken Colors

It's become a tradition for visiting artists in Seattle to wear a Kraken jersey during their performance at Climate Pledge Arena. This gesture holds special significance when the artist is from the Pacific Northwest. Many of Seattle's most iconic musical talents like Macklemore, Pearl Jam, and Train, are avid supporters of their local sports teams.

In May, during Pearl Jam's two-night "Dark Matter" tour, legendary Seattleite Eddie Vedder changed into his blue home jersey for the encore "Alive" and distributed cups of wine to fans in the front row.

Macklemore wore several Seattle jerseys in his two night homestand in December, but concluded his sold out shows in a blue Kraken home jersey. The Grammy award winning artist is also a minority investor in the Kraken.

Sometimes you pay for a hockey game and a concert breaks out. Macklemore, for instance, even filmed part of his "No Bad Days" video during a Kraken game intermission last year.

The connection between Seattle music and sports is so intertwined that designers created the bow of a ship for bands to perform on during games. Pat Monahan, lead singer for Train and Issaquah native, surprised fans with a performance during intermission last year.

Sometimes you attend a Kraken game and to your surprise, Eddie Vedder is sitting next to you. The West Seattle resident was seen at several games this season celebrating with fans to Jordan Eberle's 1000th NHL game.

While many artists have joined the trend, these are our favorite moments. We look forward to seeing who continues the tradition this season!
