Seattle, WA – The Seattle Kraken celebrated Irish heritage Sunday night as they hosted the Winnipeg Jets for their annual St. Patrick’s Day game.
The Deep was decorated with green and gold lights that reflected off the emerald-colored ice.
Fans entering through the Alaska Airlines atrium were greeted by the Celtic sounds of the Surly Goats.
Fans clapped and danced along with Seattle Irish Dance Company who took a couple of moments to pose for photos with fans.
Buoy, dressed for the occasion, even swapping out his blue anchor earring for a gold one. Seattle’s beloved Sea Troll was up to even more shenanigans than usual, but no one seemed to mind.
During stoppages in play, fans sang along to Irish tunes and enjoyed St. Patrick’s Day-themed games during intermission.
Irish eyes were smiling as former Kraken player Brandon Tanev made his return to the ice, having been traded to the Jets. However, luck was not on the Kraken’s side, as they lost 3-2 in overtime.
