The Seattle Kraken goalie tandem of Philipp Grubauer and Joey Daccord falls in line with a growing NHL trend: not born in Canada.
Daccord hails from the Boston area. Grubauer was born in Rosenheim, Germany.
At the start of the 2023-24 season, fewer than 35% of league goalies were native Canadians, according to syndicated sportswriter Bruce Penton.
