    Carter Bear and Braeden Cootes will represent their clubs and Team CHL this November in London, Ontario.

    The Canadian Hockey League has named two of Seattle's top Western Hockey League players to their roster for the 2024 CHL USA Prospect Challenge taking place in London, Ontario Thanksgiving week in November.

    The event will feature top first-year NHL Draft-eligible prospects from the WHL, OHL, and QMJHL facing off against USA Hockey’s NTDP Under-18 Team in a two-game series on November 26 in London, Ont., and November 27 in Oshawa, Ont. (Game 1 – London; Game 2 – Oshawa). 22 players and 19 clubs will represent Team CHL. The CHL USA Prospects Challenge will showcase players from the CHL and NTDP's U18 team competing in front of NHL scouts and fans, all aiming to boost their draft stock ahead of the upcoming NHL Draft.

    Forward Carter Bear is one of the Everett Silvertips top performers recently netting two goals and three points in the teams 6-1 win over the Wenatchee Wild at home Wednesday night. The Silvertips are currently ranked in the number one spot in the western division and have placed in the WHL's top 10 power rankings. Bear is listed 4th overall in the CHL leading with 18 points. In his three seasons with Everett, Bear has a total of 77 points (35 goals, 42 assists). 

    Seattle Thunderbirds center Braeden Cootes, now in his third season, earned 35 points last season (14 goals, 21 assists) and leads his team this year with 12 points  (3 goals, 9 assists).

    Both Bear and Cootes received a B grade by the CHL's Central Scouting in a list of the top 85 skaters in the league.
