Registration is open for the 2nd Annual Kraken 5K at Green Lake Park in Seattle. The event is scheduled for October 4th with check in starting at 8:00 am. The event is sponsored by Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and proceeds with benefit the Hockey Fights Cancer fund.
Festivities start at 8:30 with a costume contest, followed by a Kids’ Dash (free!) at 9:00. Adult runners will have staggered start times beginning at 9:30, with the last group or walkers beginning at 10:00.
The Award Ceremony will begin at 10:30. Runners will have the opportunity to meet Kraken mascot Buoy. Last year several players showed up to greet runners as they completed the race; it was a surprise then and no player appearances have been announced this year.
You can register here. There is a registration fee of $30, which will increase after August 16th. Kids 18 and under are $15 for the 5K and the Kids’ Dash is free. There is also a virtual option for those unable to be present in Seattle. Participants will receive a t-shirt and medal.

<b>Seattle</b> - The Seattle Kraken announced their first regular season game at home will be on October 9th against the Anaheim Ducks at Climate Pledge with the remainder of the regular season schedule rumored to be released later today. The Kraken will look to win their first opening night after going 0-4 in their first four seasons as a franchise.
