CVF: "AHL Western Conference champion Coachella Valley Firebirds, hello."
SK: "Hi. It's the Seattle Kraken. We just got home from a disastrous 0-3-1 road trip. Teams we thought we could beat, too. Our season is slipping away."
CVF: "And your point is?"
SK: "We need an offensive spark. We're scoring 2.65 goals per game. That's better than only three teams in the entire league."
CVF: "Well, Devin Shore is already up with you guys. At various points this season, you've also raided the Firebirds for Max McCormick, Shane Wright, Marián Studenic, Ryan Winterton, and Andrew Poturalski.
SK: "And your point is?"
CVF: "We suggest trying something from our defensive collection. Say, Ryker Evans, your 2nd round draft pick in 2021, turned heads at training camp with his offensive game. He had 26 points in 26 Calder Cup playoff games last season. Of course, his defense is still a work in prog-
SK: "How soon can he get here?"
Defenseman Ryker Evans indeed skated at Seattle's morning practice today at Kraken Community Iceplex.
Coach Dave Hakstol gave no indication if Evans would draw into the lineup Thursday night, when the Kraken open a six game homestand against the New Jersey Devils. Nor did Hakstol tip his hand about which Seattle d-man would sit if Evans did play.
