The Seattle Kraken have selected defenseman Alexis Bernier with the 73rd pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
Playing with Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the QMJHL, Bernier scored four goals and 31 points in 67 games. Listed at 6'1, 196 lbs, Bernier is a right-handed shutdown defenseman.
The 18-year-old excels at moving the puck. Not only during breakouts but in the neutral zone and offensive zone. He's able to keep the play moving and start offensive chances.
After three consecutive forward selections by the Kraken, Bernier is the first defenseman the Kraken have taken.
The Kraken's streak of CHL players has now extended to four straight selections.
