Brady Martin may not be the flashiest name in the 2025 NHL Draft class, but he’s quickly becoming one of the most reliable and sought-after prospects for teams looking to add grit, versatility, and two-way excellence to their lineup.

Born on March 16, 2007, in Elmira, Ontario, the 6-foot, 186-pound center has carved out a reputation as a true power forward with a complete game. Playing for the Soo Greyhounds in the OHL, Martin posted an impressive 72 points in 57 games this past season, proving he can contribute offensively while still playing a responsible, physical brand of hockey.

Martin’s calling card is his blend of elite competitiveness and physicality. He consistently finishes checks, wins board battles, and averages 2.6 hits per game—without crossing the line. But his value goes far beyond muscle. He plays a true 200-foot game, excelling on the penalty kill, in the faceoff circle, and in key defensive moments. Scouts praise his smart positioning, strong stick use, and relentless motor.

Offensively, Martin offers underrated versatility. He’s capable of creating Grade-A scoring chances, thanks to his puck control and heavy shot. He’s not just a grinder—he’s a finisher. That skill was on full display internationally, where he tallied 11 points in 7 games for Team Canada at the U18 World Championship and made a big impact at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup.

As for areas of growth, Martin still has room to improve his top-end skating speed and sharpen his playmaking under pressure. His face-off numbers are decent but could climb with added strength. Still, these are development points, not red flags.

Projected by many analysts to be selected anywhere between the 8th and 18th overall pick, Martin is attracting attention from teams like the Seattle Kraken, Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, and Pittsburgh Penguins—organizations that prize work ethic, structure, and playoff-ready players.

What makes Martin such a compelling draft pick is he checks every box: physicality, scoring, defense, leadership, and effort. In today’s NHL, where the ability to contribute in multiple roles is more valuable than ever, Martin is the kind of player you win with—not just in the regular season, but deep into spring.
