Daccord Shouldered High-Volume Assignments Both In AHL & NHL

We first learned last year - and maybe he did, too - how durable Seattle Kraken goalie Joey Daccord could be.

Daccord was the number one goalie for the Kraken's farm team in Coachella Valley in spring of 2023 (above photo). The expansion Firebirds surprised the AHL by winning four playoff series, and taking the Hershey Bears to overtime of Game 7 in the Calder Cup Final.

Daccord was between the pipes for all 26 of those postseason games. He won 15, including three by shutout, posting a playoff 2.22 GAA and .926 save %.

So when #1 Seattle goalie Philipp Grubauer needed extended injury rehab time starting in early December, the Kraken already knew Daccord wouldn't wilt under the workload.

He didn't. At one stretch, Daccord played 23 out of 26 Kraken games, posting a 1.96 GAA and .937 save %.
